1968 Rickenbacker 365 in Birdseye Maple Glo
This guitar is about as clean, sturdy, and solid as a guitar approaching 55 year's-old could be. She features a lovely, aged Mapleglo finish; striking birdseye and flame figuring on the top and back; checkered binding on the body; binding along the neck; and pearloid sharktooth fretboard inlays--all beautifully ambered over the decades. The neck on this guitar is absolutely dead straight, and the frets have surprisingly little wear. As a result, her action is marvelously low and easy.
The guitar came to me with 70's Grovers installed; I preferred a more stock look, so I exchanged these for a rare set of 1968 Klusons with "white" buttons matching the switch tip for a unified look. I temporarily swapped out the original factory white plastic guards, TRC, and knobs for "vintage gold" pickards from Pickguardian, a set of re-issue gold-on-brown Rogan stove top knobs, and a custom-made matching gold Rickenbacker-logo truss rod cover. The guitar, of course, comes with its original plastic and knobs, and its original black hardshell case. Just a tad of buckle rash on the back, vintage Ricks don't get much cleaner and better playing than this... $6000
