1964 Epiphone Casino in Royal Tan Sunburst
This is a marvelous example of a classic guitar from perhaps the most desirable and collectible year for an Epiphone Casino--1964--smack dab in the middle of The Beatle's rise to fame, sporting the shortened version of the headstock, just like Paul McCartney's. This particular model is in Royal Tan Sunburst and features both a 1964 Epiphone Tremotone Vibrato system, and a '64 stock tailpiece should you want to switch. The overall condition of the guitar is excellent: The neck is arrow-straight, the action is very low ('05 at the 12th fret), the electronics all work perfectly, and the guitar's front happens to include some very nice "ghost" figuring in the wood--an uncommon trait for '60's Epi Casinos. The guitar's only issue is a decades-old professional headstock repair which is clean and strong--part of the many stories this guitar could tell. The original nylon saddle bridge is in the case; the one pictured here is a recent Tune-O-Matic top piece. It also comes with two pickguards--one original, and one recent-issue cream pearloid--and the original hardshell case. $7999
