1960 Gretsch 6125 Anniversary Model in Olive Smoke Green w/late 50's Gretsch-logo Bigsby Vibrato option
This guitar is an outstanding example of the earliest Gretsch "Trestle Bracing" electric models, in the highly desirable "Olive Smoke" two-tone green color scheme. This particular piece is about as clean as a vintage Gretsch from this era gets, thanks to being parked under a bed for over 50 years in the dry California desert--no binding rot, no neck issues, clean original frets, original bridge with plenty of adjustment still available, all original electronics, and a very clean original hard shell case. Not surprisingly, this particular guitar has few minor nicks and scrapes, and feels as solid as a new Gretsch rolling off the Asian assembly lines would today--no rattles or structural vulnerabilities typical of 60+ year-old guitars. I love a Gretsch with a Bigsby, so I managed to find an original Gretsch Bigsby from the late 1950's, and added it here as an option. It works marvelously, and I avoided having to drill a hole for the strap pin; original chrome Gretsch tailpiece is, of course, included as well. This guitar is resonant as hell, even unplugged it's loud and boomy. Currently strung with top of the line Thomastic Infeld Flatwound .13 strings--thick and stable; stays in tune forever. The single original Gretsch pickup offers a variety of tones and takes on effects very well. Overall, this guitar is just a joy to both behold and play. Like fine real estate, an ultra clean example like this is only going to escalate in value as time goes by. $5000
